W.S. Mount fourth graders visited the Epenetus Smith Tavern, a popular stop along the Brooklyn to Sag Harbor stagecoach route during the 1770s. To learn what life was like for 18th century children, students participated in hands-on activities including painting a tavern sign, writing with quill and ink, candlemaking, and imprinting designs onto leather.
